"You should try going out more, honey; it's really not good for a woman to stay all day in her room doing nothing but stalking a man's social media account," her mother said as she opened her room door.
"Mom, it's also not good for a woman to go outside even if she has nothing to do, and it's not safe going out nowadays. I'm already happy being here in my room," Mera replied, her gaze fixed on her phone. She's been scrolling and drooling over pictures of the man she loves for a long time.
"But look at you, honey. You're too pale already. You look like a zombie. Just go take a walk outside the house so you can get a heat of the sun. Aren't you worried about how pale you look? Looks like you're going to beat Snow White of being so pale." Her mother scolded her again, and she rolled her eyes.
Her mind muttered, "Here we go again."
She stood up from her bed, her gaze fixed on her phone.
"Okay, mom. I'll go take a walk outside as you suggested. My god, you're nagging me so early in the morning," she said as she exited her room.
As she lay down in her room, she was preoccupied with looking at Ash Steve's pictures. Yes. Ash Steve is the man she's been in love with for nearly five years. A well-known billionaire. A very attractive man with an abundance of sex appeal. A man any woman would want to be with for the rest of her life.
Her parents and Ash parents are close friends, so the two of them know each other, but they aren't close. When she and her parents go to Ash house, she tries talking to him several times but he doesn't even look at her. He simply ignores her presence and continues to demonstrate that he is uninterested in her.
"You really like him that much?" her father asked behind her, and she nearly died of surprise.
"Dad!" she exclaimed, surprised. She takes a deep breath and touches her chest. Her father laughed at her outburst.
"Why?" he mockingly inquired.
"You startled me. You almost gave me a heart attack. Could you please not do that again?" she asked, pouting her lips and stomping her feet on the ground like a little girl.
"I've called your name several times already, but you're not even answering me or looking back; I thought you were doing something important on your phone, but look what you're doing. Hmmm. Stalking him again, eh?" Her father mocked her.
"So what? It's not like he'll be mine one day," she replied, rolling her eyes at her father. In their living room, she sat on the couch.
Yes. She already understands. There's no need to slap it in her face. She already knows that the man can't be hers for the rest of her life because he has someone else. She felt sorry for herself. What's the matter with her? She already has everything. She's stunningly beautiful, hot, drop dead gorgeous, intelligent, famous, and wealthy. But she can't figure out why the man dislikes her. Her expression changed as she considered this. It became depressing, and she had no idea her father was aware of it.
"You like him that way."
"I just don't like him dad. You know, I love him, and I'm not sure why. Even though he keeps ignoring me, I just can't seem to ignore him too," she explained.
"Don't worry, he'll realize your worth one day. Just don't push yourself too hard. Enjoy your life for now. And you have a lot of suitors out there, just pick one of them to hang out with in the meantime." Her father sat beside her.
"Really, daddy? You're going to give me to just anyone out there even though you already know who I like? Tsk tsk. You're really something. Are you really my dad?" she exclaimed, but it was just a joke for her father. She knew her father was just trying to make her feel better about the situation.
"Hey, darling, you totally misunderstood me. I just said enjoy your life for the time being. You're overreacting," her father said, shaking his head and laughing. She was amused by his reaction.
"I know, daddy. Duhh! I'm just going with the flow," she replied, rolling her eyes mockingly, which made her father laugh even louder.
"You're far too mischievous."
"That's why I'm your daughter, dad; I stole it from you." She gave her father a big smile.
"Yeah, yeah whatever," he said as he rose from the couch. "Anyway, where is your mother?" he inquired.
"I'm not sure. Maybe upstairs?" she inquired.
"We're going to the company right now. Anj called me earlier, seems like there's a little bit of a problem," her father said as he was ironing his slacks. That's when she noticed her father was dressed for business and wearing his favorite glasses.
"Is there a problem? With the hotel?" she inquired. Apart from the company, they also own hotels, bars, and clothing lines.
Her father made a shaky motion with his head. "It's not our company that has a problem," he said, which perplexed her.
"Huh? Whose company is that?"
Her father gave her a look. "The parents of Ash."
"Eh? What do you mean by that?" she asked, still perplexed.
"I believe their company is going bankrupt," her father said, and Mera abruptly stood up in her seat.
Oh, no! That can't be right. What will happen to them at that point? What will become of Ash. She must assist them. Perhaps she'll pay his parents a visit tomorrow to inquire about the situation.
That is something she should do. Perhaps she can assist. She just can't let Ash and his family go into downfall. It breaks her heart seeing the man she loves to suffer. So as much as possible, she needs to give something that could help Ash and his family.
