Audriana wondered what could be the reason for the message, her Dad has not sent such a text to her before 'it must be really important' she thought.

She called her Dad to ask what might be the issue.

"Hey Dad, how are you?" Audriana asked her Dad when he picked up the phone.

"My princess, I am okay. How are you doing?"

"I am doing fine, I am working on the project you sent to me the day before"

"Okay, okay, how is it going?"

"It's going fine, Dad I saw your message just now"

"Yes baby, we have to see"

"Are you okay? have you been taking your drugs? have you be--" her Dad cuts her off.

"Easy Ana, I am fine and I have been taking my drugs. Princess, it's not about me... it's... just come home, okay?"

Ana is her nickname from her Dad

"Are you sure? if it's not about your health, then what is it?"

"It's not something to be discussed on phone, we need to see so we can know how to resolve it"

"Is everything okay?" She asked.

"Just let's see, okay?" he said.

"Okay, after work today I will come over, send my kisses to Mum," she tells her Dad.

"I will do that"

He hung up and she continued what she was doing, but could not concentrate because of the call. When her Dad encounters an issue, he isn't one to tell anyone he has his way of sorting it out, and as much as she doesn't want to be worried, her Dad did sound worried.

She just brushed it off so she can concentrate on teaching for the day and go home to know the issue.

She was almost done with what she was doing and stopped the project with a reminder she has to finish it up by the end of the week, she went for other classes she had and closed for the day.

She packed her laptop, phone, chargers, some books she needed to read, and locked her office door, then went to her friend Sofia's office so they can go together because she is her ride.

Sofia Maya Gabriella Ana De Leon is also a Lecturer at Teslundo University, but she teaches Archaeology in the Science and Art departments. Sofia and Audriana have been friends since college, Sofia studied Archaeology while Audriana studied Computer Science.

They met in the weirdest way ever, in the bathroom. Audriana was a transfer student from Precise Tech college, so she was totally new and was looking for the bathroom. Sofia was in one of the cubicles in the bathroom crying when Audriana came in after searching for the bathroom for some minutes.

She heard some sniffing and little sobs, she wondered who was that and what made such a person cry but her already full bladder didn't let her check on the person, so she entered the cubicle next to where the sobs were coming from to empty her bladder.

While she was doing her business she didn't hear any more sobs and heard one of the cubicles open and some footsteps, she thought whoever was crying must have left. After she was done she came out and saw a black-haired lady, staring at the mirror and wiping her eyes whenever a tear slip from her eyes.

'she didn't leave then' she thought.

"Hi," Audriana said walking towards the mirror to wash her hand.

The black-haired woman looked at her without saying a word, her eyes were bloodshot from the excessive crying.

Audriana washed her hand and turned to the girl to ask her what was wrong when she burst into tears and hugged Audriana.

Audriana was a little bit taken back but hugged her back, she told Audriana her name and told her what happened. Audriana comforted her and took her to her car when she was calm, that was how their friendship started.

They were like sisters, tell each other secrets, go to parties, events, conferences, did sleepovers. they were inseparable.

"Hey, driver I am prepared to go home," Audriana said when she entered Sofia's office.

"Chill master, I am still busy, please bear with me" Sofia responds.

"Hmm... you've been a great employee so I will grant your request," Audriana said

"Thank you, boss I am so grateful," Sofia said with a grin on her face.

"No, don't thank me"

They both laughed and hugged each other.

"How are you doing girl?" Sofia asked.

"Stressed but good, how are you?" asked Audriana

"I am so great, and as you can see bubbly"

"I can see that, how is Mum holding on?" Audriana asked referring to Sofia's Mum.

Sofia sighed and dropped her pen "She is holding up fine, I am just bothered"

"About what?"

"About this new treatment, Mum is to undergo, they have been so many treatments upon treatments just so this cancer can go, the doctor said the last surgery she had will totally remove the tumor but..." she shook her head "another one was discovered and she needs more treatment and surgeries"

Audriana knew about Sofia's Mum's condition.

She has Culoitpyro valnyum cyst. it's a rare disorder that grows a tumor in the liver, kidney, breast, and brain. This cancer makes the person gradually become blind, with painful yellowish discharge coming from the eyes, and nose. sometimes sweat could be brown or red and when it gets to a certain stage the patient becomes paralyzed with no hope of walking.

It has been so hard on Sofia, especially since her Dad died in an auto crash while going to get drugs for her Mum when the disease was discovered, Sofia got the news of her Dad's accident and immediate demise due to injuries from the crash.

That was when Sofia and Audriana met, Audriana was there for her, through everything, and Sofia was so grateful.

"But what?" Audriana asked.

"I'm scared" Sofia looked down.

Audriana stretched to hold Sofia's hand and rubbed comforting circles on her palm.

"Sofie, look at me" Sofia looked at her "Liliana will do just fine, okay?" Sofia nods "She would not want you looking all gloomy and all you know?"

"Yeah I do, I am just trying not to think too much about it and be positive"

"That's our only option, being positive," Audriana said.

"I just hope this work out"

"Me too"

"Thank you Audri, you're the best that ever happened to me I am so glad that I have a friend like you," Sofia said.

"Stop silly, I told you, For better for worse" Audriana and Sofia said the last part together and they laughed.

Sofia continued what she was doing.

"What are you doing?" Audriana asked.

"Well there is this new museum that I stumbled into last Friday, and you know how I have been teaching my students about the history of Selfth Creswp and all?" She asked.

Selfth Creswp is a semi man-god that has skin like the scale of fish, fingers like birds talon, and waist down of a goat. Sofia has been so obsessed when she found out about this new discovery from her recent visit to Murie.

Audriana nods telling her to go ahead.

"So I am taking them there hopefully by the end of the month," Sofia said with a smile.

Audriana smiled knowing fully well how much Sofia loves all this historical stuff. Her office tells it all, with all the weird things she brings from her tour to those places Audriana doesn't want to learn about, she uses them to decorate her office. Audriana calls her 'The Mother of those time'.

"Oh girl, that's great have you written a letter to the school chancellor?"

"That's what I am writing, I pray it gets approved before the last week of this month so my students can get prepared, they are quite excited with all I have been telling them"

"I am glad you have people you could tell all your weird adventure to, you know?" Audriana said playing with the pen she took from Sofia's desk.

"Me too weirdo"

"That should be my line"

Sofia stuck her tongue out at Audriana and continued writing.

They kept talking for while about how their day went and what they planned to do for the weekend. Somehow Philip came into the conversation.

"I actually think you should give Philip a chance, dude he likes you," Sofia said not removing her eyes off her computer.

Audriana sighs, "I don't know, he hasn't stopped disturbing me and whenever he the opportunity he first and says silly things," Audriana said twirling a strand of her golden-brown hair.

"Well, novice that's what every guy who likes a girl do, they tease them, flirt with them, make their face flush red. He likes you a lot," Sofia said "And by the way you are twirling your hair and talking about how annoying he is," she said and stopped typing.

Sofia leans her elbow on the table and rests her jaw on her palm giving Audriana a knowing look.

"What?" Audriana asks.

Sofia gives her a look that says 'you sure as hell know where I am heading to'.

"Why are you giving me such a look?" Audriana questions "Okay, okay let's get this straight, I do not like Philip, but not like that, okay? i... i... I ta..take him as a friend. Okay, that's all" Audriana said defensively.

Sofia gave her a dry look "If you don't like him, you won't be all that defensive" she said. "Give the dude a chance and see where it goes"

"I do no--" Sofia cuts her off.

"I didn't insist you like him," Audriana couldn't talk. "Give him a chance, I can say Philip is a very nice guy, he is funny, carefree, even though he gets too inquisitive, overall he is okay, and who knows he could be your Prince Philip" she added wriggling her brow and causing Audriana to blush. "And I don't like him," Sofia said in a slightly high-pitched voice.

Audriana tore a little paper and fold the paper then she threw it at Sofia, Sofia dodged it and stuck her tongue at her.

"Very mature" Audriana said.

"I am saying the truth"

"Whatever" Audriana rolled her eyes.

...a few minutes later...

"I am so famished, where should we go to?" Sofia said.

Sofia was already done with her work for the day and they are leaving the school building to the parking lot.

"Oh sorry love we can't go to our mini-date, I have to go home, Dad summoned me," Audriana said.

"Oh, can I come, I miss my old peeps," Sofia said

"Sure you can, you are their second daughter remember?" Audriana said.

They got into Sofia's car and she started the engine.

"Really, I thought we were twins, so that makes us their first daughters," Sofia asked.

"Whatever we are still their children"

"I know, but I am the first," Sofia said

"Nope, I am the one" Audriana argues.

"I am the two" Sofia said and they both laughed.

They talked about many things, anything till they got to Audriana's home.

"Pfsst kiss my ass" Audriana said.

Sofia parked in the Bernard's garage located beside the boy's quarters behind their cream and golden-colored mansion.

Sofia tapped Audriana's butt and blew her a kiss, Audriana gasped and gave Sofia a playful hit on her arm.

"Oww"

"That's good for you"

"Shut up," Sofia said

"You shut up" Audriana replied.

They continued their baby fight when they heard a voice coming from the front door.

"You know, no one would believe you girls are adults with your child fights," Moana Bernard said laughing at the girl's little fight they shared seconds ago.

Moana was wearing a green armless fled shirt that had flower prints on it with dark jeans trousers, she is wearing a necklace Audriana made for her two years ago it's a gold color. She matches her outfits with green-colored flats, and gold bracelets.

She isn't wearing any earrings mostly because she doesn't have a hole pierced in her ear, even Audriana doesn't have any hole pierced in her ear.

"Oh, my Mama" Sofia began "Is it I or you just look ten times younger than you did the last time I saw you," she said and hugged Moana.

Moana hugged her back.

"Oh my dear, you have your ways with words, you look spectacular" Moana replied.

"Thank you Mama how are you? what of Papa?" Sofia asked.

"Good evening Mom" Audriana greets her Mum.

"Good evening dear" Moana hugs her daughter to which she responds.

"Papa is inside, come let's get in," Moana said and the three of them entered the house.

"How's work?" Moana asked and they told her about how their day went and Moana shared her experience.
