Jenny was released from the hospital, two days after she was admitted. In those two days, Carl did not bother to visit her, but her bills was paid by him.
A limousine was waiting for her outside the hotel when she was discharge, which brought her straight to Paradiso-a five star hotel located in the heart of the island.
Jenny spent her first night cooped up inside her room. It troubled her not knowing what Carl was up to, but she can certainly tell that it's not something good.
On her second night, Jenny managed to roam around the island. The island of Caracia is a popular tourist spot. The clear waters with its white sand beaches, not to mention the abundance of coral reef in its waters made the island a paradise to anyone who is looking for the perfect getaway. When Jenny was a child she loved this island, well that was until... When the memories began flooding her head, it took away any comfort she could have gained by leaving the confines of her room. So, she gave up prancing like a confused moron and went back to the hotel.
This is her third day inside the hotel, she is currently eating a piece of sandwich that she got from one of the hotel's restaurant. As she sat alone inside her room, she can't help but reminice about the past. When did she first meet Carl Salvador, the heir of one of the fortune companies in the country?
She was two years old when her mother divorced her father. They were never rich to begin with, so when her mom and dad broke up, Jenny and her mother was left to fend for themselves. Her mother took on various jobs in order to keep things together. They spent nights on the streets and shelters for women and children. They must have lived like that for two whole years before her mom found a recruitment agency for house keepers. It was in this agency that her mother, Anita Dela Vega found herself under the employment of Richard Salvador. He is the founder of a computer software that became a hit in the technology industry.
When her mom got the job, she left Jenny in the care of an old friend in the City, believing it was the best choice, instead of dragging her to the island Caracia-where the Salvador's main house was located. Come to think of it, her mother was right in that aspect-she never should have asked Jenny to come live with her in Caracia. If a jenny had stayed in the city, she never would have crossed paths with Carl, but things in life aren't always that easy, right?
Jenny's released a heavy sigh after her short musing, she finished the rest of her sandwich and went straight to bed.
When morning broke, Jenny was awakened by a loud knock on her door. She glanced at her bedside clock and the time said 5:30 in the morning. Frowni g, Jenny slowly got out of bed and headed for the door. When she opened it, she expected to see Carl or one of his man-it had been days, it was only a matter of time before Carl decides to call ipon her. But Jenny's eyees went from shock to co fused when the person who apoeared before her is someone she didn't know. It is a woman, probably her age. She have long ebony locks, blue eyes and creamy complexion. She looks so beautiful in her regal red spaghetti strap dress. Jenny couldn't help but be mesmerized. Hey, a woman can always admire another woman, even if not in a romantic way.
"Can I help you?" Jenny asked.
The woman before her didn't respond. She gazed at Jenny with a hateful stare, before raising her hand and landing them on Jenny's left cheek.
Caught of guard, Jenny stumbled and fell on the floor.
"So, you're the whore?" The woman screamed, there is bitterness in her voice which confused Jenny. She didn't know who the woman was, and why she had to suddenly attack her-but, if the woman thinks Jenny was push over, she had another thing coming.
Regaining her bearings, Jenny stood from the floor and without a word slapped the woman back-as hard as she could.
The pretty lady probably didn't expect her immediately retaliation, because Jenny can clearly see the utter shock in the features of her face.
Emboldened by the woman's reaction, Jenny gave her uninvited visitor another slap on the cheek.
By now, the woman's face is as red as a tomato. Tears are beginning to pool in the corners of her eyes, and before Jenny could say or do anything else, the woman stormed away.
Jenny was left stand g in front of her door, surprised and yes, confused. She took a deep breath, and although she wanted to find an answer to that weird encounter, Jenny decided to let it go and deal with it later on.
Despite the sting her attacker left on her cheek, Jenny went back to bed and fell asleep. The next she awoke, she found Carl sitting on a chair from across her bed.
She stumbled out of her white blanket, nearly falling off od the bed and gave Carl a cold glare.
"I sent my secretary here this morning. You gave her quite a greeting," Carl murmured. There is an u dertone in his voice that didn't sit right with Jenny.
"Well, is greeting someone done with a fierce slap these days? I didn't receive the memo,"Jenny retorted.
Carl abruptly stood from his chair after her answer and walked towards her bed, he stood against the open window that failed to block the sun-making his features nearly impossible to stare at without her eyes stinging from the sun's painful rays.
"I sent her here to chek on you, and you repay her kindness by attacking her? Just because she disturbed your sleep?" Carl said between gritted teeth.
With that, Jenny's anger spiked. She got out of bed and stomped wer way towards Carl. She is a few inches shorter than him so she needed to raise her face in order to look him the eye. Still fuming with rage, Jenny poked on Carl's chest and said, "Let me set the story straight. That woman came here in the early hours of the morning and immediately attacked me when I opened the door."
She huffed and continued to poke on Carl's chest before adding, "I may have hurt her, but she hit me first. If the lot of you think that you can bully me, then you'd better think again."
She exoected him to get angry at her, curse or perhaps hit her, but none of that happened. Carl just stared at her finger which was still poking at his chest.
When Jenny realized what she was doing, she abruptly took her finger back but didn't pry her gaze away from his eyes.
They stood in front of each other, measuring each other's gaze, until Carl finally broke their staring contest and walked towards the door.
He exited the room without a single word to Jenny.
When Carl was finally gone, Jenny sat herself on a chair and took huge gulps of air. If Carl thought she was courageous by that recent display, he was wrong. Because Jenny might have stood fearless in front of him, said those words without a stutter-but the truth was, deep inside, she was shivering in fear. She knows Carl better than anyone. She knows things about him that only she and Carl will ever know. Things that are scary, crazy and deadly.
She can beat anyone or anything, but never Carl Salvador. Because deep down, he is the love of her life.
