What have I done Mason took the blame, I did it I just wanted her to get punished by the teacher not to push Mason closer to her chelsey thought.
"What have you done Chelse?" Kayla asked tapping her.
"My plan didn't work but why would Mason take the blame? Does he like her?" Chelsey asked frowning.
"No you are just thinking too much, he just met her today and you know Mason is mischievous maybe he just wants to be in detention." Kayla told her.
"Ok, I get it but I'll have to do something so Stacey gets punished." Chelsey smiled.
Stacey
I don't know what Chelsey is planning right now but it won't be good for me. She planned everything from the smirk on her face when the teacher was speaking to me. Soon the closing bell rang.
"Stacey you've got detention and Chelsey is responsible for this, would you like me to wait for you?" Adriel asked.
"You don't have to Adriel, I'll manage."
"Of course, Mason is there!" She winked at me.
I laughed, "what do you mean by that?" I asked.
"Mason likes you, it's quite obvious. He took the blame, that's lovely you know." She smiled placing her hands on her chest.
"Adriel! He did that so he could have the opportunity to keep taunting me." I frowned.
"I don't think so! I'm sure this is your first detention right?" Adriel asked staring at me.
"Yes, How did you know?" I asked surprised.
"It's written all over you, you are calm and so quiet and innocent you aren't mischievous, you can't get into trouble." She smiled.
"You think so?" I mumbled.
"I wonder why the teacher believed what Chelsey said." Adriel frowned.
"It's not his fault, he was upset. I think you are a calm person Adriel."
She chuckled, "I'm not Stacey, I'm crazy! You are just getting to know me that's why you think so."
"I'll go have a look to see if my driver is here." She hugged me before walking away.
I'll have to inform Mom that I've got detention, I know she will be so upset with me. I dialled her number but she didn't pick up I tried four more times but still It just rang with no one picking up.
Maybe I should just call Aunt Jane instead, I dialled her number, she picked it up on the first ring.
"Hello, Aunt."
"Stacey is anything wrong? You sound disturbed." Aunt Jane asked.
"I've got detention, please inform mom I tried calling her but she isn't picking up."
"You got detention? What happened?" She asked surprised
"I'll tell you everything once I'm back from school."
"Ok, I'll let your Mom know, take care of yourself." She mumbled before hanging up.
Aunt Jane supports and helps me a lot, she knows how I feel even if I don't say a word, she figured out I was worried over the phone. I should talk to Chelsey before I go to detention.
I walked around the premises looking for her, I met her and Kayla standing together.
"Hi, Kayla," I mumbled when I got to them.
She didn't reply, she just hissed at me. Nothing new, she does that most times.
"Chelsey, why did you tell the teacher that I had stuck the gum to his chair? when you know I had nothing to do with that." I asked calmly.
"Well I did it, you still haven't figured out why, well I'll tell you. I wanted you to get punished and so you know I'll do whatever I want, miss you aren't the boss of me. Let me warn you to make sure you stay far away from Mason or else you'll be sorry. She ranted, she pushed me before saunter Ing away, Kayla smirked rolling her eyes at me before following her.
Stay away from Mason, What's my business with him? I just met him today, maybe she has a crush on him. If that be the case, I get the reason for her weird behaviour at the cafeteria today.
I went to the detention hall, other people were there but they were juniors when I got in their gazes were on me. I walked in ignoring their stares, I searched for a seat far from the others. I looked around but Mason was not present. Why did he admit to putting the gum on the teacher's chair when he didn't? I thought.
"She looks so small, doesn't she eat enough or maybe she has stunted growth. How is she even in high school?" The students said to themselves, pointing at me as they laughed.
Tears dropped from my eyes, I bent my head. There's no point saying anything to them moreover this isn't the first time I've been taunted this way. There is nothing wrong with being petite.
"You all keep quiet!" I heard a voice said. I turned in the direction of the voice and there he was, Mason was standing at the door. Everyone turned to him coming in. All of them kept quiet
"Don't you know she's your senior? Size doesn't matter, if it did I don't think any of you would have been juniors. I think she's is cute being petite isn't bad." He added.
He thinks am cute or maybe he just said that. I thought.
"Now, you all apologise to her." He told the students.
"We are sorry." They mumbled turning to me.
"Senior Stacey." Mason corrected.
"We are so sorry senior Stacey." The students apologised just as he told them to, they respect him a lot.
"It's fine," I muttered.
Mason walked towards me and took a seat beside me.
"Thank you, Mason," I mumbled.
"You don't have to thank me, you should learn to stand up for yourself. You should have said something to them when they were taunting you rather than crying when they taunted you kiddo." He smiled.
"Mason, you stopped them from taunting me but you continued the taunting," I mumbled.
"I'm not taunting you, oh! You don't want me to call you kiddo? which name will you prefer smallie or Stace?" He smirked.
This dude is something else, this minute he's saving me the next minute he's teasing me. I ignored him
"Won't you say anything? You are back to being mute again." He sighed
Mason
I would have been here since but Scarlett stopped me and started her usual meaningless actions, Finn refused to go home he insisted on waiting for me. What kind of person is she? She kept quiet and cried while her juniors mocked and insulted her. Who does that? I will make sure she learns to stand up for herself. She's petite and cute, she's also very nice and calm but being nice doesn't mean you have to let others bully you.
"State, how old are you? I asked.
She turned to me, she was quiet for a while before she answered.
"I'm sixteen." She mumbled.
"You're sure? I thought you were like twelve or eleven." I teased.
She glared at me, "Mason stop taunting me, I have to study." She mumbled bringing a book out of her backpack.
"Stace, who studies during detention?" I asked
"Do you need an answer?" She asked getting up, she went to seat elsewhere.
I followed her and sat on the seat beside her.
I tapped her on the shoulder but she didn't respond I tapped her twice again.
She turned, Mason you still followed me here. What do you want? She asked.
"What happened Stacey? You won't talk to me?" I asked but she said nothing. I'll just let her be.
After some time detention was over.
..
..
Stacey took her backpack and was about to leave but Mason called her.
"Stace, wait up," Mason mumbled.
She stopped. When he got to her, he collected her backpack.
"What do you need that for?" She asked him
"Nothing Stace, I just want to help you, the backpack is way bigger than you are, it will weigh you down. You might end up becoming shorter." He teased, he had a grin on his face.
"Mason," she called.
"You look cuter when angry." He smiled holding her hand.
"Let go of my hand Mason." She mumbled.
"I'm not gonna harm you." He mumbled letting go of my hand.
They walked in silence, when they got to the parking lot. They saw Finn and Adriel standing together, they were laughing.
"Adriel, you are still here," Stacey asked surprised.
"Stacey, my driver wasn't here when I came to check so I decided to wait for you since Finn was waiting for Mason." She mumbled.
Finn looked at Mason, they was a glint of surprise on his face.
"What's wrong?" Mason asked.
"No I'm just surprised, why do you have Stacey's backpack?" He questioned.
"Oh this, I helped her carry it," mason replied.
"Wow! That's so unusual and very nice of you Mason." Finn smiled
A black car drove into the parking lot, "Stacey my driver is here I have to go now, bye." Adriel smiled hugging her.
"Bye Finn, Mason." Adriel waved before getting into the car.
After her car drove out, Mason turned to Stacey.
"How do you intend to go home, Stace?" He asked.
"'ll call my mom," she mumbled taking her phone. She dialled her number but there was no answer, she dialled aunt Jane and she picked up.
"Hello, Aunt."
"Is detention over Stacey?" Aunt Jane asked.
"Yes," Stacey replied.
"Uncle Luke is already on his way to come to pick you up."
"Thank you, aunt, I love you."
"I love you so much bye," Aunt Jane mumbled before hanging up.
"Who's was that? You didn't tell me you've got a boyfriend, I'll like to meet him." Mason asked.
"No, I was speaking to my aunt," Stacey replied.
"I guess we'll have to wait till someone comes to pick you up before we leave," Mason uttered.
"You don't have to bother Mason, I'm not a kid." Stacey mumbled.
"Really! You are not a kid." He said sarcastically.
"Mason, do you have to taunt me every time?" Stacey asked just then she saw uncle Luke driving in.
"My uncle is here I have to go now, bye Finn!"
"Won't you say bye to me, Stace?" Mason asked. "Here's your backpack." He mumbled handing it over to her.
"Thank you, Mason, bye." She waved at them before getting into the car.
"Good afternoon Uncle Luke." Stacey greeted.
"How are you, Stacey?" He asked
"I'm fine," she replied.
When they got home, Stacey stepped out of the car and walked to the door, she opened it, there she met her mom pacing the room. Her Mom turned to her when she noticed her presence.
"Good afternoon Mom." Stacey greeted but her Mom ignored her.
"Stacey, where are you coming from?" She snarled, glaring at her, Chelsey was standing behind her, with a smirk on her face.
Stacey stood wondering what her sister must have told their Mom.
