Life taught us two lessons: first, when we asked for something. Second, when we got that. Lisa's story was full of twists and terms.
"Excuse me, King Mike. But my daughter is not ready for this marriage yet."
Mom turned down that proposal. Perhaps she knew the dark truth inside of that palace. However, Lisa's bewildered heart was the opposite of her decision.
She secretly planned on going to the event.
She had decided everything under cover of night.
Packing a black robe that could cover her whole body in the bag, she waited for the morning.
She opened a secret drawer, took out a book with pages stuck in it, and started writing with a spot of black ink.
[The day has come for me to take off to the dreamland. I don't know how my mom will react to this, but no one can stop me from living a lavish life. I'll be the princess of this town.]
Putting the pen down, she held the book close to her chest. And while staring outside the window, she began to enjoy the glow of the moon.
…………………………………..
The dawning rays had given the message of her new chapter.
Mom planted a kiss on her forehead, and while caressing her cheeks, she conveyed. "Lisa, I'm going out of town. You know what to do, right?"
"Yes, Mumma. Stay at home."
"That's my honey. Remember to eat on time. I'll come back soon." Saying, she stood up and waved her hand for the last time.
After she left, Lisa immediately headed inside. Picking up her bag, she went out through the corner gate.
She raised her head and glanced at the palace. "I'm coming."
......................................................
Wearing black attire, she kept walking, and with time, I lost track.
The blindfold fell off my eyes, and I found myself back in that jail.
Sitting in a corner, he was staring at me. "I guess you found something already, huh?"
"I want to ask you-"
He cut my words off and replied. "I know! How did she turn in like that, right? Well, Lisa had a happy life until she chose royalty over happiness. You'll slowly find out the reasons behind her hatred for men so much."
"Then... What about her dad? And did she never have a friend?"
His eyelashes fluttered, hearing my words as if I had asked something unexpected.
He got up and started coming towards me. Silently dead, I stepped back until he reached my neck and smirked. "Lisa's dad was a magician who thought Lisa had a blessing of physics power. To find its explanation, he went to the range but never came back."
"A range?"
"Yes, the magician court of this island hid in the purple wings. It's a superior area built for hidden powers. Somehow, Lisa was able to enter there. Ancestors connected her soul with a new gene born in the parallel world. Sadly, the place is no more, and no one can stop her."
All this was like a tale Grandma used to tell in childhood. She believed that when the door of the Parallel Universe would open, the truth would meet.
I still remember her words but still could not understand their significance.
She stated, "When the two energetic powers clashed, the world will see a new ray of hope. The door of smiles will open with one closing for the past."
Tears built up in my eyes, seeing the red thread clad my wrist. If Grandma's tale were authentic, then an outsider's death was infallible, but who?
The crystal tied around my neck was shining but dim. Was this a hint?
My heart was showing me the way, but my mind blocked it. Confused, I struggled to follow the light.
Though I knew I wanted to get out of this mess.
Clinging to the crystal, I took a deep breath and asked him. "Is there any way to get out and find that court? I want to break this curse."
"A-Are you sure about this?"
"Just lead the way." I nodded my head. He examined the determination filled in my eyes.
A tiny chuckle appeared on his lips as he turned. "Follow me!"
...................................................
*Bam!*
Abruptly, her eyes opened with a hold on her breaths.
Something still dazed her head off while hands tied with rope.
After a few flickers, her vision was slightly clear. She shifted her gaze around, struggling to find where she was.
In a clunky condition, she found Bell by her side. The color of her face had turned completely blue, which quivered her.
Her eyes widened as she raised her voice to wake her up. "Bell, wake up! Bell?"
Getting no reply, she searched for me. "Where's Irene? What's happening?"
They were in the abandoned room with no light around.
She saw a pot with a sort of chemicals nearer.
Along, her gaze fell on two boys tied with ropes. Their condition was disturbing.
One had lost his upper skin. The scars of injury showed they went through a rough time.
There was a mark of the cat's claws all around his eye. His hands seemed to break vigorously.
The blood was flowing deep down to his knees, covering them.
Even his feet seemed like someone cut them apart.
Her eyes were no longer asking to see anything. The scenes horrified her soul.
Anna started panicking when she heard a noise coming from behind the door.
A black cat came out from there, and under the soles of those fellows, he made a cross sign using their own blood.
She couldn't even utter a word, as if someone stole her voice away.
Tears were flowing from her eyes like heavy rainfall.
She silently watched everything, how the cat used his sharp claws to peel their skin off, and they had no power to scream.
Anna shut her eyes and prayed to God. "Please, save us, Lord." She could see her end was near.
...........................................................
We were out of that jail-like room. Sweat was clinging on my forehead, but the time had come to be courageous.
He handed me the map, smiling for the last time. "Thank you, Irene, for helping us out. As long as you have this crystal, Lisa could do nothing. I wish you the best." With this, he stepped into the jail.
And I was left alone in the corridor. Looking around, I saw nothing but pin-drop silence.
It was just the beginning of my dreadful incidents.
