CHAPTER 06 - Friendship or love?
Author's POV
Tears formed in his eyes once her sparkling eyes opened a moment, meeting his wet eyes. Taken aback, he wiped his tears as she rubbed her eyes, looking at him along with her half-opened eyes. "When did you come?"
Clearing his throat, he replied in his cold tone. "When you were busy sleeping in other's workplace." Evident at him, she rolled her eyes. "I have no interest in visiting you. It's my mom who wants me to do so."
Explaining herself, she stood up as she stretched her hands within the air, yawning. "Anyways, now I'm going. I have a lot of things to do."
She stepped ahead solely to be stopped by him as he held her wrist, making her turn back. "You are still sleepy. It's dangerous to drive back."
Yanking his hand, she crossed her arms. "So, Dr. Song, what will I do besides it?" chewing his lips, he answered. "I will drive you back." "Huh? given that I bear in mind, however, you offer a lift to somebody." Unlocking her purse, she took out the plastic bag which she used to wrap the money.
Passing him the bag, she raised her brows. "Here you go. I'll never like someone's favor on me." Taking it back, he sighed. "I need to come back to the hospital, and so I can't drive you after. I didn't know if my method was wrong."
Laughing sarcastically, she added. "It was an insult for your kind of information, Dr. Song. You can reject it, but your ego of yours couldn't be left behind." Curving his brows, he tried to clarify. However, she did not grant him an opportunity. "Thank you for agreeing. I never want to get married to an annoying, egoist person." Rolling her eyes, she banged outside the space, leaving him dumbfounded.
Xingyue's POV
The light of dawn seeped into my space. I rubbed my weary eyes and walked to the window. There was a pearly glow within the sky. The morning was crammed with chippers of birds as I saw people running down to their work. Stretching my hands, I welcomed the cold breeze, touching my skin as I grinned. Turning back, I glanced at my alarm because it was nearly time for work. Shrugging off, I walked to the bathroom and did my daily routine.
Chewing a slice of bread, I took my files as I locked the door and walked to the car, driving to my workplace. I had bundles of pressure as today the new CEO was signing in. As his assistant, I had to deal with a lot.
Banging within, I ran to his cabin. I used to be wearing a black, formal dress with matching heels. Dashing to the door, I opened it solely to fall to the bottom. "AGH!!"
Author's POV
She was paralyzed in shock and that sudden rush of adrenaline as she let herself fall until she hit the ground and felt as though their life just flashed before their eyes while struggling to catch their breath.
Xingyue’s foot caught, whirling her arms to regain balance, she pitched toward the floor. Throwing out a hand to prevent the fall, Xingyue felt a pointy wrench of someone's hand close to her waist.
Taking a deep gasp, she raised her chin as her eyes met brown, shiny eyes. Gazing into one another's eyes, he lifted her as she quickly brushed her suit. "Good morning, Mr. Han. Good to see you on your first day."
Extending his hand for a handshake, he smiled. "Even if we are going to have a working relationship, don't call me Mr. Han. Save it for my dad. Call me Han Shuo." Commanding her laugh, she nodded. "Oh! Okay, Han Shuo. Are you ready for your first meeting?" Gazing downward, he pronounced a sigh. "I... I do not know if I can handle it." Pressing her lips along, she patted her arm, cheering him. "Dear boss, you've got your assistant besides. Do not be stressed. All of them understand you."
Taking his coat, he beamed at her. "Are you prepared then, assistant?"
Chuckling around, she nodded. "Always boss. Let's get it."
Xingyue's POV
We nearly finished the meeting as I entirely checked on Han Shuo, taking care of whether he was feeling alright or not? it was his first time taking any meeting, then I made workers understand his condition. He wasn't a friendly nor extroverted person.
Glancing sideways, I noticed his professional aspect. He was a serious person who loved perfection. No doubt, he was the son of Mr. Han, who also was a perfectionist.
Taking a deep gasp, he dismissed the meeting as we bowed to each other. Passing him a thumbs up, I collected my files as he claimed. "Thank you for your support, Xingyue. Without you, I was unable to do it." Smiling to the ground, I cheered him. "All credit goes to you."
We were sharing chuckles once the recipient came to me, said.
"Ms. Li, your husband came to meet you."
Getting a heavy feeling in the stomach, I asked with my shaky voice. "W-who?"
"Your husband, Ms. Li."
Shutting my eyes, I asked God to throw me away because it was the foremost embarrassing moment in my life. Cursing beneath, I clenched my claw. "You'll pay for it, Xi Song."
