A poor lady finds an expensive phone in a trash can while picking up bottles. She takes it and begins to look for the owner. She finds out it belongs to Wilbur Sanders, a well known actor and she innocently returns it to him after a successful search.

He was a very popular actor and one of the richest. But he was quite humble, kind and easily hurt. Her actions struck a cord in his heart and in an attempt to make her an ordinary friend, he falls in love with her. His best friend is totally against his feelings for her and warns him to stay away from a mere janitor. But Wilbur even strived to get closer to Marigold. He begins to care for her and show her that he loves her.

Unfortunately, she doesn't want him despite him being rich and capable of pulling her out of poverty. She had a terrible heartbreak in the past and he was a rich boy too. So Marigold thought that all rich boys were players. Her own best friend, Eliza, would have none of her attitude towards Wilbur. She encourages him to give him a chance but Marigold is very stubborn.
